FAQ #1: What Happens if I Get a DUI?

When you get a DUI, you need to call us immediately. We have 10 days from the date of the arrest to call the office of Driver Safety and set an administrative hearing to contest any suspension or action against your license. If you don't do this within the first 10 days, we don't get that right. It's forfeit. Any suspension from the DMV is practically guaranteed at that point. This is also an opportunity for us to receive the discovery before we ever go to court. The same police reports and chemical analysis they use at the DMV to attack you, they will use in court. We can get that information from the DMV faster than the prosecutor and be prepared long before the court date arrives.
